this month has been really sunny and warm in san francisco; yesterday i even wore a t-shirt around town — without carrying a jacket too — which is kind of risky behavior. it’s strange to have our warmest period be so late in the year. how many sweatshirts are sold to tourists in the summer? must be huge business.
today it is cloudy and cooler, in the high 60’s, and it feels like san francisco again. and i’m wearing a sweater again. feels more like home.
this year marked my tenth journey to the desert, which as always is beyond words. but mark morford at the sf chronicle had a jolly good time putting the experience of the burn to words which i recommend.
my experience was mostly social, catching up with folks i hadn’t seen for years while in portland or even since my year in vermont. so i didn’t get out of camp all that much and it was just fine. really wonderful to catch up with so many and to meet friends of friends and just basically to decompress out there - probably decompressing from my recent return to san francisco, pending decisions about clients, and the ever approaching 2010.
